MIGS

MIGS, or micro-invasive glaucoma surgery, has become a common abbreviation in the world of glaucoma. MIGS encompasses a wide variety of glaucoma surgeries that have been developed in recent years to help reduce intraocular pressure while minimizing the risks of standard glaucoma surgeries. Dr. Rahul Pandit of Houston Methodist Hospital has one of the only trabectome MIGS devices in South Texas and has been covered in the news for his teaching of this procedure, in addition to an array of other MIGS procedures he performs including the iStent and Xen gel stent.

Often times, as a result of a MIGS procedure, patients see a reduction in their intraocular pressure with fewer glaucoma medications needed.
